Mary Virginia Jacobs, 77 years, of Bevier, MO. formerly of Southwest City, MO. departed this life on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 in the Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO.
Mary was born July 4, 1928 in Oakwood, MO. daughter of the late Edward E. and Caroline Melissa (Chapman) Bowler. On November 10, 1960 in Hannibal, MO. she was united in marriage to Thurman Jacobs and together they shared thirty-nine years before his passing on August 20, 2000. Besides being a hard working and devoted homemaker to her husband and family she had also worked a period of time at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, MO. as a Nurses Aide. She left Southwest City five years ago to move close to her daughter Lois in Bevier, MO. She enjoyed sewing, and was labeled as a wonderful cook by all of her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Thurman Jacobs; a son, Junior Jacobs; three brothers, Coleman, Lester, and Henry Bowler; three sisters, Stella Shrum, Deloris Kennedy, and Nancy Bowler.
Mary is survived by three sons, Richard Jacobs and wife, Mary Jane, of Owasso, OK., Roy L. Jacobs and wife, Lee, of Colts Neck, NJ., and Charles Jacobs and wife, Sharon, of Jay, OK.; two daughters, Doris Barnett of Brooklyn Center, MN., and Lois Nerini and husband, Kenny, of Bevier, MO. fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Nair of Hannibal, MO., Wilma Lawrence of Bowling Green, MO., and Glenna Utley of Hannibal, MO.; four brothers, Carl Bowler of Hannibal, MO., Harold Bowler of Liberty, MO., Kenneth Bowler of Hannibal, MO., and Eddie Bowler of Clarksville, MO.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mary Virginia Jacobs were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September, 24, 2005 in the Ozark Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, MO. with Brother Ray Clanton officiating. Burial followed in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, MO. Larry Nerini, Richard Bratton, Ronald Phelps, Mark Bratton, Chris Bratton, and Brandon Robertson honored Mary's life by serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were J.W. Walkins, JimBo Baldwin, and Mark Bratton.
